  1. The Smith Point Sprint Triathlon is set for Aug. 7 in Shirley. Participants will start their power cycle swimming at the Narrow Bay and create a 16K bike ride from the Smith Point Bridge to the Wertheim National Refugee. (Local Races)
  2. For those needing career counseling, MMS Community Library can help! Reach out to make an appointment at www.communitylibrary.org/programs or call 631 657-3743. The sessions will be held on Aug. 6. (Patch)
  3. Suffolk police said if a person goes inside an unlocked car but does not steal cash or any items, it’s not considered a crime. Holbrook resident Deanna Salentino provided a video of someone trying to get inside her car, which was unlocked but did not steal anything. According to the police, the suspect did not commit a crime. (News12)
