New Lynchburg nonprofit to offer space for people to heal through food, art

LYNCHBURG, Va. – A new organization in Lynchburg is looking to offer a space where people can heal through food and art.

The Crowded Table; Art By Us is currently renovating a home to serve as their headquarters.

The location will include two counseling rooms, areas for the performing arts and music, and a soup kitchen.

Leaders say they want to be a resource where the community can break bread and discuss issues.

“It’s not like we just hand them food and they go on their merry way. We sit down together and get to the root of whatever anyone needs,” said Salina Khanna, board member.

The group plans on opening the home by the end of summer 2022.
